Raw water intake pound

The project involves the construction of several ponds near the Great Zab River to collect and store clean water for the Khabat Thermal Power Plant. Raw water will be abstracted from the midstream of the river through two 32-inch pipelines and conveyed to a main storage pond. From the pond, water will be pumped via horizontal pumps through a 12-inch pipeline over a distance of approximately 1,500 meters to gravity filtration units for further treatment.
